Meet Our Trainers
Dana Mongillo,
CPDT
Head
Trainer
I am the head dog trainer at Fuzzy
Buddy's Dog Daycare, as well as the owner. I
love sharing information and ideas about training
dogs. My
goal as a dog trainer is to inspire people to work
training into their everyday lives with their dogs.
Dog training should not feel like a chore. It should
be fun time that you and your dog spend together.
Ultimately, my goal is to help create happy
families, where the dogs and the human family
members understand each other and respect each
other.
I use positive-reinforcement based methods
because I have found those methods to be an efficient
and enjoyable way to build a good
relationship between dog and human. Positive
dog training appeals both to the side of me that loves
its scientific foundation in learning theory, and
the side of me that feels that the relationship a
person can have with an animal is profoundly magical
and fulfilling in a way that science cannot explain.
My educational experience includes working with
many great positive dog trainers and attending many
seminars, workshops, and conferences. My favorite
experiences include clicker training chickens at a
Bob Bailey workshop and going through Pat Miller's
training academy in Tennessee. I believe that
continuing education is important to my growth as a
dog trainer, and I am always excited to learn more about
training techniques and dog behavior. I am a
Certified Pet Dog Trainer, which means I passed an
exam administered by the National Certification
Council of Professional Dog Trainers (www.ccpdt.org)
Patty Glynn, Trainer
Patty Glynn became interested in dog training in
2004 when she adopted four-year-old Hank. He was
not well socialized in his early years, was fearful,
and expressed his fear as aggression. Since then,
she has apprenticed at Fuzzy Buddy's, and
attended many classes and workshops on positive
training. Her pack includes of three dogs, Hank,
Merry and Allie.
You can reach Patty directly with any questions
about her classes at
patty@fuzzybuddys.com.
Johanna Perri,
Trainer
Johanna completed the year-long training
program right here at Fuzzy Buddy's. Her classes
are solely based on force-free training methods
with the single goal of creating the best possible
relationship between
our beloved furry friends and their guardians. Her
methods include
yummy treats, goofy toys and fun games with Mom &
Dad that build
trust and help us deepen the bond with our fuzzy
charges. Everyone
will get to know clickers and hopefully become as
playful as the
doggies!! Her classes offer science-based ways of
teaching great
manners and offer lots of tools and guidance to
provide years & years
of bliss with our four-legged companions.
Johanna is also an Advance Training Volunteer at the
Progressive
Animal Welfare Society in Lynnwood, helping to make
the temporary
stay of their dogs as comfortable as possible while
they're waiting for
new homes. On Sundays you can find her at the
off-leash water park
trying as best as possible to fit in with the pit
bulls without them
noticing she is, in fact, another species.
You can reach Johanna directly with any questions
about her classes
at johanna@fuzzybuddys.com.
Apprentices:
Dana
W.
Dana W. was born and raised in a small town in rural
Alaska. Her childhood was full of canine
playmates. She called Blackie, an enormous
black lab mix, her best friend throughout all of her
school years. Back in her hometown, Dana W.
worked at a little pet store and volunteered at her
local animal shelter. She always hoped that
someday she could find a career working with
animals, especially dogs. In 2007, she moved
to Seattle with her boyfriend, Troy, and their furbaby, a pug named Popcorn. Luckily, after
some searching, she eventually found her dream
doggie job at Fuzzy Buddy's Dog Daycare. Dana
W. started at Fuzzy Buddy's in March 2008 and has
loved every fun, crazy, fur-filled day of play
since. She is currently studying and working
to become a Certified Pet Dog Trainer.
